The Monash Doctors Newsletter is a weekly publication to all medical staff at Monash Health. The Newsletter helps communicate important information and interest pieces to the medical workforce. Subscription to the Newsletter is free.

Submissions to the Newsletter
Submissions to the Newsletter are welcome from all Monash Health staff. Please refer to following information before submitting to the Newsletter:
Submission guidelines
- Submissions must be informational and/or educational. Promotional material will considered on a case-by-case basis by the Editor-in-Chief. Promotional material external to Monash Health is unlikely to be published.
- Submit articles using the MDW Newsletter Submission Form in Microsoft Word document format (.doc or .docx) only.
- The working language of the newsletter is English.
- By submitting to the Newsletter, the author acknowledges that he/she consents to the publication of the information. It is the author’s responsibility to obtain consent for any content that is not his/her own.
- Include the following information:
- Preferred publication date(s) – Please indicate the preferred date(s) and/or duration for the publication of the submission.
- Nominate an appropriate category for the submission:
- Weekly highlight
- Alerts/Notifications
- Awards & Honours
- Appointments, Promotions & Departures
- Education & Training
- Research & Publications
- Health & Wellbeing
- Social Corner
- Other (please specify)
- Title – up to 65 characters
- Body – up to 500 words. Use headings and lists to make it easy to read. Authors must provide accurate references for all data and information used.
- Related links (optional) – The submission can contain up to three hyperlinks to supporting information/documents. The related links and documents must be provided separately on the submission form.
- Image (optional) – The submission can contain up to three images. Images must be high quality with a size no more than 800 pixels wide. Images must be accompanied by captions, which are 5-25 words in length. Images should be in .jpg or .png format only. It is the author’s responsibility to ensure consent is received from any person(s) appearing in images.
- Feature article (optional) – Please indicate if you would like the submission to be published as a feature article (i.e. at the top of the Newsletter). This does not guarantee the submission will be published as a feature article – the selection of feature articles will be decided by the Editor-in-chief.
- Bundle the submission and image/document files into one file, for example, a ZIP file. Send the submission via email to MedSupport@monashhealth.org before the submission deadline (see below).
Submissions are subject to editorial review and submissions to the Newsletter does not guarantee that it will be published.
Our Editorial team may undertake light editing, but if a submission requires more than 3 edits it will either be rejected or returned to the author for resubmission.
Submission deadline
Submissions must be received by email to MonashDoctors_Newsletter@monashhealth.org by the preceding Thursday of each week for it to be considered for publication on that week.
Publication cycle
The Newsletter is published every Thursday at 3pm. Only submissions received by the preceding Friday will be included in the Newsletter.
