Interprofessional Orientation (IPO) Day
Interns are scheduled to attend this day on Wednesday of the Orientation Week. Interns have been assigned to either Program A or Program B. Please note you cannot change your allocated program.
Program A – starts at 08:00 am.
Program B – starts at 09:00 am.
The program allocation of each intern is outlined in the intern’s individual Intern Orientation Program that was emailed out in December.
Goals of IPO:
- Provide early opportunities for graduates to develop relationships with other professional disciplines
- Recognition that the person lies at the centre of clinical practice (not one professional perspective)
- Equip graduates to communicate effectively and respectfully across professions using a structured communication tool
- Enable graduates to have some awareness of the roles of other health professions within the team
- Model Monash Health as a health care organisation that develops effective teams in addition to individual competence
