Monash Health International Medical Graduate Preparation (MiPreP) Program is a 14-week course specifically designed for International Medical Graduates (IMGs). This is a boutique style course, with a small group of participants. This intensive and highly supported course features a dedicated senior doctor and Medical Education Officer exclusively for the program. It is aimed at IMGs currently in Australia who aspire to join the Australian medical workforce. The program includes:

$A 12,600 (+10% GST) including all costs for HTGR, Monash Simulation courses and assistance with AHPRA registration*.

*AHPRA registration fees not included

  • If you have completed the HTGR with PMCV, then the component of the MiPreP fee allocated to HTGR will be deducted from the total once you have provided evidence of this.

If you withdraw or do not complete the program for any reason, we are unable to refund the fees.

No. HECS-HELP fees are not available for this course.

No. The MiPreP program is designed to provide a comprehensive orientation to working in the Australian Health care system and in a major metropolitan hospital. You will gain insight into how the hospital system works in Australia along with invaluable knowledge and skills which will stand you in good stead for employment in the future.

Your level of supervision is determined by AHPRA. The minimum requirement for successful application for the MiPreP course is Completion of AMC MCQ part 1 along with practice within the last 3 years. Completion of AMC part 2 and practice within the last 2 years is highly desirable.

That would be great! However, we are unable to refund the fees.

We would recommend Doctors-in-Training medical liability insurance/professional indemnity insurance (which is also an AHPRA requirement).

You are expected to work as a supernumerary HMO in the unit under supervision. We believe that the best way to learn to be a junior doctor in Australia is by having the experience under a safe and supervised environment. You are expected to follow all Monash Health policies and procedures.

We use Jotform to collect feedback on your performance from your supervisors. We will use this and your portfolio work to provide constructive feedback for further improvement.

Yes you do! We hope that participating in the MiPreP program will enable you to gain entry into the Australian Medical workforce at Monash Health or elsewhere.

Yes. All English Language tests accepted by AHPRA are acceptable.

IELTS: Minimum of 7 in listening, reading and speaking. 6.5 in writing.

OET: Minimum score of 350 with 2 (if required) sittings within 12 months of each other. Grade B in Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing.

PTE: Minimum of 66 score in each area

TOELF: Minimum total of 94 (24 listening, 24 reading, 27 writing and 23 speaking)
