This includes diagnostic and therapeutic vascular procedures, interventional oncology procedures such at radio-frequency ablation or arterial chemo-embolisation of tumours and renal and hepatobiliary interventions performed in Diagnostic Imaging.
In addition I am responsible for the daily running of the Diagnostic Imaging departments at the Moorabbin and Kingston campuses of Monash Health. I split my time between Clayton and Moorabbin.
I also have the honour of being the current Chair of the Monash Health Senior Medical Staff (SMS). This role involves regular meetings with SMS representatives from all of the Monash Health campuses, regular liaison and discussion with the Monash Health executive and quarterly presentations to the Monash Health board regarding the SMS. In addition there are regular meetings with the Chair of other health networks SMS co-ordinated by the Victorian Branch of the AMA.
When I was young I wanted to play full forward for the Carlton football club. Unfortunately for me, I stopped growing in year 10 and could never kick very straight. Then again, neither could some of Carlton’s full forwards.
If I could have one super power it would be to the ability to put people into other peoples shoes, to make them see the world through the eyes and experiences of those they suppress or oppress. I think we would all be much nicer to each other if we could see how difficult it can be for so many. And I would love to be able to fly.
